The library will be open on Monday, Martin Luther King Day.
We have a number of interesting books that reflect on MLK and his legacy.
Also on Monday, 6:30pm: Downloadable Workshop!
Learn about audiobook and ebook downloadables that are available for free
through the library.
Our first session, last Saturday, was a learning experience for all.
We were able to get a few people started, but we also realized some of the
trouble spots.
It seems like once you do it a couple of times, it all makes sense. One of
the most important lessons we have to remember is that a virtual library can be just like coming to the Morrill Library: that new book you want may be out and you have to get on the waiting list. However, many more audiobooks will be available to you than the Morrill could afford to purchase by itself, and e-books are a whole new thing.
Join us in finding out about these newer services. Oh ------ and bring your
toys ----- laptops, iPods, MP3 players, e-readers (except this service
does not work with Kindles)
Please return LUV audiobooks and movies asap, as they will be exchanged next
Monday for a new collection.
For all you Steig Larsson fans looking for a new read: there are some other
Swedish "crime writers" you might enjoy: Henning Mankell; the new book
"Three Seconds" by Anders Roslund & Borge Hellstrom; or Arnaldur Indrisason,
from Iceland.
Childrens' programming continues:
Thursday - the after school program will start a penpal type exchange with
Thetford ----- think Valentines Day messages!
Friday - Storytime at 10 am.
