We are hopeful that the newer public access computer will be functioning by
Wednesday ------it has been a long inconvenience and we are very sorry.
Children's programs continue this week as usual, but next week is school
vacation week, so there will be no Thursday after-school program........ but there WILL BE Storytime on Friday at 10 am.
The Morrill Library is very pleased to announce that we have been awarded a
Winnie Belle Learned Fund grant, from the VT Public Library Foundation. We
asked for funding to update our children's audiobook collection ------ both to
replace classics that we own on cassette tape, and to expand our collection.
These should start arriving in the next few weeks ----- with titles to
interest all ages --------- just in time for summer and longer car drives,
which is a great time to listen to a good story.
Some newer titles: non-fiction: "Drift" - Rachel Maddow, "The Science of
Yoga" - William Broad, "The Splendid Table's How to Eat Weekends" -Lynne
Rosetto; fiction: "The Beginner's Goodbye" - Anne Tyler, "Lifeboat" -
Charlotte Rogan, "Sacre Bleu" - Christopher Moore, "The Shoemaker's Wife" -
Adriana Trigiani, "The Witness" - Nora Roberts, "Calico Joe" - John Grisham, "
Beastly Things" - Donna Leon, "Believing the Lie" - Elizabeth George, "Elegy
for Eddie" - Jacqueline Winspear; along with some children's books and a few
DVD's.
