Library Notes--February 1, 2011

A new rotation of LUV audiobooks and DVD's arrived last week.
As many of you know, the IRS is not mailing out tax forms this year. We can
download and print forms here, and we have just ordered few instruction
booklets. Hopefully, they will arrive soon.
If you're interested in the downloadable audiobooks or e-books , but couldn't
make it to our workshops, we now have a brochure to guide you through the
process (many thanks to Kasaundra Landon). You need high-speed internet access
and your library number. It can be a bit confusing the first time you try, so
let us know if you need help and we'll try to get you started.
The book group has changed the day they will meet: from now on, they will meet
the last THURSDAY of the month.
The next meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 24 at 1 pm, to discuss the book
"Decline and Fall" be Evelyn Waugh. First published in 1928, "It is a social
satire that employs the author's characteristic black humour in lampooning
various features of British Society in the late 1920's". Let me know if you
need a copy through ILL.
Some new titles at the library: "Clara and Mr. Tiffany" by Susan Vreeland;
"Red Garden" by Alice Hoffman; "The Weird Sisters" by Eleanor Brown; "Inner
Circle" by Brad Meltzer; "Janus Stone" by Elly Griffiths; "Treat Me, Not My
Age" by Mark Lachs, MD; "The Investment Answer" by Daniel Goldie; "Bird Cloud"
by Annie Proulx; "JD Salinger" by Kenneth Slawinski; "Twelve Steps to a
Compassionate Life" by Karen Armstrong; "Vermont Wild" stories by Eric Nuse
(retired VT game warden); DVD's: Secretariat, Social Network, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Rael Pilates and Planet Earth.
Children's programming continues Thursday "After School Fun" thinking about
Valentines Day and Friday 10 am Storytime.
