It's a great time to visit the library ----- it's nice and cool inside!
Fridays, 10 am: Storytime for preschoolers (and friends).
Mondays, 6:30 pm: children's summer program "One World, Many Stories". This
Monday, the focus will be on stories and crafts from Africa.
Next Thursday, July 28: book discussion group: "Ghostwritten" by David
Mitchell.
We have passes you can borrow to VT. State Parks (day use); VT State Historic
Sites; the American Precision Museum (in Windsor --- currently there is an
exhibit of miniature machine shops, etc. by John Aschauer that we've heard is
amazing); and Billings Farm Museum. All are welcome to borrow the passes, but
please remember to return them promptly, so others can enjoy them.
Over 25 new DVD's have arrived from the LUV coop.
A few new titles: "The Man in the Rockefeller Suit" - Mark Seal; "Turn Right
at Machu Picchu" - Mark Adams; "Portrait of a Spy" - Daniel Silva; "Children
and Fire" - Ursula Hegi; for teens: "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar
Children" - Ranson Riggs; "The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland" - Catherynne
Valente.
Recently recommended: if your children enjoy the Magic Treehouse books, they
might enjoy the activities at the website: www.magictreehouse.com
Wi-fi is always available ------ even when the library is closed, you can sit
outside and connect on your laptop.
