June 4, 2014
Thursday will be our last after-school program for this school year.

Friday: STORYTIME! 10am

We'll be visiting some of the classes at Newton School on Friday, 6/13, to talk about the great summer programs we have scheduled and to send home a calendar of events.

New titles arriving this week: "Mr. Mercedes" - Stephen King, "Midnight in Europe" - Alan Furst, " All Day and a Night" - Alifar Burke, " The Vacationers" - Emma Straub, " Fourth of July Creek" - Smith Henderson, "All Fishermen Are Liars" - John Gierach, "New Life, No Instructions" - Gail Caldwell, "Rodale's 21st Century Herbal"; for younger readers: "Minecraft", "Return of Zita the Spacegirl" , and "Soccer on Sunday" (Magic Tree House #52).
Also, the Mortal Instruments Series, including "City of Heavenly Fire" (#6).

 

Library Notes--5/29/2014

The library is making some slight changes and reconfiguring our internet connection with the hope of bringing even higher speed access through the library (the problem with our older public access computer is the computer, not the internet connection ----- we hope to upgrade that computer very soon). Meanwhile, the printer is not working till Saturday. Sorry for any inconvenience (it can still make copies).

Friday:   10 am: STORYTIME!

Friday: 7 pm: A Community Storytelling Event:  "TRUTH BE TOLD"  The evening’s theme is:  COINCIDENCE or FATE?
    Live music and refreshments, followed by stories (5 mins. each) at 7:30 pm. 
     Free and open to teens and up ------ tell a story or come and enjoy others.

Just a reminder that there will be NO Storytime this Friday ---- it's been re-scheduled to next Friday, April 25 at 10 am.

Also, next Friday evening, another group is sponsoring a "Community Storytelling Event" in the library ---- sounds like fun for both storytellers and listeners.
The theme is "coincidence or fate" and they are looking for storytellers to tell 5 minute tales.

School vacation! So, no children's programs this week ---- 
Storytime has been re-scheduled to Friday, April 25 at 10 am.
Of course, children are always welcome to stop in the library and borrow 
some great books to read over vacation.

Wednesday Evening at the Library!

Tales from his new book "In It For the Long Run", Jim's memoir of his life in the music business.
There will be books for sale, refreshments --------a great time to get out of the house!

The Thursday after school program will run at 3:15, although there will be no bus transportation due to half day at Newton School.
