If you’ve ever wondered how the library manages to provide a wide array ofservices to hundreds of patrons with only one part-time employee, theanswer is pretty obvious to trustees – through the generosity, commitmentand talent of our many volunteers. Our volunteers do much more than work atthe circulation desk – although that is certainly crucial to our ability tomaintain open hours for four days a week. They also help us runfundraisers, oversee our endowment, help out with special projects, pitchin on building maintenance jobs and guide us when we’re struggling withsome of our technology. And, of course, the Friends of the Morrill Memorialand Harris Library, which has become increasingly vital to our success, isan all-volunteer operation. The trustees certainly recognize how fortunate they are to receive this
level of support. We write not only to express our heartfelt gratitude to
the many who donate their time, but in hopes that Strafford residents also
recognize their enormous contribution.
